New Dates for CWIEME Berlin – 18-20 May 2021

Following close monitoring of the global situation and liaising with the venue, local authorities and our community, we’ve heard that people are looking to meet again, but want to do so, safely. Therefore, the next CWIEME Berlin will now take place on 18-20 May 2021. Work as already started on exciting new initiatives. HPS expands line of transformers for solar applications

Hammond Power Solutions Inc. (HPS), a North American manufacturer of dry type transformers, has extended its line of 3-phase general purpose and k-rated transformers for solar applications. These solar duty transformers are available for applications where voltage adjustments are necessary between the solar generation system and the utility service.

Japan increases production of power transformers by 6%

German business intelligence provider Fygen, the value of production for electrical power transformers in Japan has seen a 6% increase during the first quarter 2020. Medium and large power transformers have seen the largest growth, at 31%.

China develops vegetable oil filled traction transformer

The China Railway Electrification Engineering Group, alongside China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group, has developed a highly-innovative transformer designing using vegetable oil. The group claims its new model, destined for railway use, saves energy, ensures safety, and is good for the environment.

Gehring  completes  integration  of e-motive unit

By start of June 2020, the Gehring Group has completed the integration of its production technology portfolio for hairpin stators within its e-motive business unit. Two years on from its acquisiton of copperING, Ghering will now offer all its product portfolio, from honing tech, laser tech, e-mobility, and digital solutions, under its own brand.

Britishvolt targets site in Wales to build battery Gigafactory

A site in Bro Tathan, South Wales, is the leading candidate for a new massive battery manufacturing hub. Britishvolt’s project will be the UK’s first 30 plus GWh Gigafactory, expected to generate 3,500 jobs and feed into the UK's £5bn domestic battery production industry.

Mitsubishi Electric to acquire Sharp factory to expand power device business

Upon acquisiton of building's and facilities from Sharp-owned subsidiary Sharp Fukuyama Semiconductor, Mitsubishi Electric will be able to expand its core power semiconductor offering. All buildings are located in ukuyama, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan, and will begin production under Mitsubishi in November 2020.

Zero Motorcycles & EXRO Technologies team up for innovative motorcycle power coil

EXRO has paired its coil drive technology with Zero Motorcycles power trains to develop new innovative motors for e-motorbikes. "This partnership is another step in the commercialization of our technology, and we look forward to delivering," said EXRO CEO Sue Ozdemir.
