Magtrol is proud to announce the launch of a new torque sensor, the TS series (1). This new transducer offers a double signal output, analog and USB which can be used simultaneously, for example one channel for data acquisition and the other one for close loop control of a drive line.

The sensor integrates an encoder (360 impulses per revolution) allowing an angle resolution of 0.25° and providing a reference index (1 impulse per revolution.). The energy transmission from the stator to the rotor is assured by a high frequency rotary transformer offering a lower inertia. A system consisting of three coloured LEDs continuously informs the user of the operating status of the device.

Encapsulated in a small compact housing, the first family of 8 nominal ranges covers from 50 mN·m to 10 N·m. It will be extended from 20 N·m to 500 N·m in the coming months. The TS torque sensor provide a measurement up to 200% of its nominal. With 300% of rated torque as ultimate overload reserve, it makes the TS one of the sensors offering the highest overload reserve of the market.

This new range perfectly strengths Magtrol capabilities in torque measurement, bringing a great complement to the actual TM series (2) (offering up to 400% of ultimate overload and high-speed version up 50000 rpm), TF series (3) (torque flanges) and RT series (4) (reaction torque sensors).

Magtrol offers calibration in its ISO-17025 accredited torque laboratory, form factory calibration up to Euramet cg-14 certificates.
