Tesla President of Automotive Jerome Guillen says that “Gigafactory Texas is happening at full speed”. The company wants to produce the Cybertruck and Tesla Semi electric trucks at the location by the end of 2021.

New Zealand start-up launches world-first long range wireless power transmission
New Zealand start-up company EMROD has developed the world’s first long-range, high-power, wireless power transmission as an alternative to existing copper line technology. The Emrod technology uses electromagnetic waves to safely and efficiently transmit energy wirelessly over vast distances.
US transformer companies oppose “national security” tariffs on imported steel components
Companies producing electrical transformers and their components have launched The Core Coalition to urge the U.S. Department of Commerce to find that imports of those products do not threaten the national security of the United States.

Hyundai is launching Ioniq as a fully electric subsidiary
Hyundai is making Ioniq its own sub-brand for future battery electric vehicles based on the new Electric Global Modular Platform with 800-volt technology. The first model will be the Ioniq 5 based on the Hyundai 45 concept car next year, with two further Ioniq models already announced.
Nikola scores landmark order for 2,500 battery-electric garbage trucks
Republic Services, one of the largest waste collection companies in the U.S., has made a "landmark" order with Nikola. According to the press release, it's the largest single order in the waste industry.

Germany awards G+L innotec funding for development of fuel cell technology using media gap motor
The project is to be completed by 2022 and is a joint venture by the “Recirculation blower development for fuel cell technology” (REZEBT) together with The Institute of Turbomachinery and Fluid Dynamics (TFD) at the Leibniz University of Hannover (LUH), the hydrogen and fuel cell center ZBT GmbH, Duisburg, and G+L innotec.
Euro Group aims at EV expansion
After signing an investment deal with Tikehau Capital, Euro Group is aiming to expand its offer in the EV market. Tikehau has taken a 30% share in Euro Group to fund the proposed market expansion.
